Boys Team Finishes Third & Whit Windham Individual Runner Up at 2025 State Championship; Girls Team Grabs 12th Place
Lumpkin County continues to make a name in cross country in AAA with the boys team picking up its third podium finish in the last four years with a third place finish. Individually, Whit Windham was the AAA runner up with a time of 16:36. On the girls side, LCHS earned a 12th place finish.

3rd Annual Home Meet Date Set - Varsity Only Races

In partnership with the University of North Georgia’s 13th Annual UNG XC Invitational, Lumpkin County High School will continue to host its 3rd Annual North Georgia Cross Country Invitational with a high school division for varsity teams.
Divisions & Field Size: The college event will take place on the evening of Friday, September 12 with the high school running first. The varsity-only races will include the top 10 runners from each school.
NEW FOR 2025: This year's event will be varsity only races with a field size capped at 15 teams per race. In place of open online registration on Georgia MileSplit, teams are required to send intention to compete to LumpkinXC@gmail.com.
Wyatt Windham Commits To Run At Georgia Tech
Lumpkin County senior Wyatt Windham signed to continue his running career at Georgia Tech. It marks the second consecutive year that at LCXC Cross Country runner has signed to run at a NCAA Division I school. Congratulations to Wyatt on a decorated career and for this milestone accomplishment !!
Wyatt Windham Wins Individual State Title; Both Teams Post Top-10 Finishes at 2024 State Championship
Lumpkin County was again well represented at the 2024 GHSA AAA State Championship on Nov. 9 with senior Wyatt Windham winning the individual state championship and fueling the boys team to it second consecutive podium finish (top-four). Joining Wyatt on the top-10 podium was teammates Whitt Windham (4th) and Sam Edwards (10th). The LCHS girls returned to the spotlight with a 9th place team finish led by Keli George's top-10 result (8th overall).
